In order to ultimately create a molecular transistor, the Columbia Nanocenter's research is currently focused on electron transport in three general directions:

• Electron Transport in Self-Assembled Arrays and Interfaces
• Electron Transport in Carbon Nanotubes
• Electron Transport in Single Molecules
