Ron McNair CITIES Science Showcase

The Ron McNair CITIES Program was established by the Columbia University MRSEC to explore ways to enrich the curriculum of New York City public high schools. Our MRSEC works with schools to get students involved with experimental science and discovery. As part of this, our program now helps promote inclusive science fairs within several NYC high schools in which small teams of students work together, under the guidance of MSREC students. This year the approximately 20 winners of the three participating public high schools presented their posters and were honored at the first annual CITIES Science Showcase at Columbia University on June 6, 2007. This event drew an enthusiastic response from the high school student participants, school administrators and teachers, and MRSEC students.
